A.King.Sanya
Akinsanya is a healthy reggae sounds practitioner/artiste likewise a facilitator of holistic, non-toxic sounds/music to uplift the total being.

Born Lloyd O’Neil Palmer in St Ann Jamaica the garden parish of the isle, home to some of Jamaica’s international cultural legends such as; Burning Spears, Jackie Mittoo and Bob Marley.

King Sanya as he is and called grew up in Trelawny parish and was moulded into the musical arts in his teenage years at his Alma mater William Knibb Memorial high school, being exposed to music as a subject likewise singing on the school’s choir.

Akinsanya ventured into Jamaica’s popular music culture as a Dub -poet, then evolves into a multi-instrumentalists as he grows learning percussions, melodic, keyboards and now he’s a student of the acoustic guitar.

As a musician Akin provided accompaniment (backing band) to Reggae’s A class performers, such as Richie Spice, Tony, Chezideck, Turbulence, Warrior King, Winston McAnuff and more. He has toured with reggae singer Sugar Minott and Gyptian playing keyboards until he a formed “The Uprising Roots” band in ‘06 with fellow mates who felt disillusioned and abused by the Jamaican music industry unprofessionalism.

With Uprising Roots, Akin was able to fuse spoken words/Dub Poetry with spiritually potent contemporary reggae music in a debut album titled “Skyfiya”.

Currently King Sanya is on a sabbatical from the band to focus on his spiritual journey as it relates to Healthy transformational therapeutic sounds for body soul mind and spirit wellness. A journey which has manifested the “Sound Balm Yard” venture offering musical services, sound offerings (music) for wellness and products such as indigenous acoustic handmade instruments (whistles/flutes).
Akinsanya has teamed up with Japan based producer/musician Jr Wize to release his debut EP “Dub Trafickka” in ‘16 featuring Dub – poetry and instrumentals.
Follow up singles in ‘17/’18 such as “incient chant/Kween Naanii/Fancy Girl” respectively. The latter two being Ska tracks with Akinsanya vocalising his poetry in a singing/chanting character. Akinsanya current release “House of Dub” is a track paying homage to the dub pioneers; Lee ‘scratch’ Perry, Scientist, King Tubby and Mad Professor.

Akinsanya is the Granman*(pronounced Gaaman) spouse to Jamaica’s 1s Granman Gloria ‘Mauma G’ Simms installed by Suriname Okanisi Maroons in 2014. She is also the 1st female Granman in this era.

*Akin is currently working on two projects for his “Sound Balm Yaad” production label. A compilation with Jamaica’s Frontline dub poets and an acoustic album featuring chants and songs unto HIM*
